Of course, you’re probably not going to sit down to a meal of pine tree. But in a worst-case scenario, a pine tree could save your life.
Pine Cones have pine nuts inside of them and the needles can be used in a tea.
But, if you shave the outer protective bark off a side of the tree and get down to the white under layer, you can literally eat it straight from the tree. It's slightly sweet with a turpentine flavor (not a typical favorite flavor profile).
If you dry out the white meat, it's easier to eat.
The bark has a lot of antioxidants and carbohydrates so it can give you a good boost of energy.
So if you ever find yourself in a desperate situation, you now have a option.
